The SmartMeter System features real-time notification of power outages via public wireless networks. When a deployed SmartMeter experiences an outage, an alarm is automatically sent to the host system, where it is recorded and routed to designated users, outage management systems and field technicians. SmartMeters also notify the host system when the power is restored following an outage.
