The SmartSynch SmartMeter consists of a solid-state meter, an advanced SSI module and a communication device. SmartSynch has built its technology to integrate into multiple leading meter platforms.

SmartSynch : Inside the Smartmeter
All SmartMeter components work in conjunction to become an intelligent client for the Transaction Management System (TMS) head-end application. The ANSI C12.19 meter provides all standard metering functions and acts as the database for the integrated device by storing metering data in ANSI tables. The SSI module is responsible for monitoring various tables within the meter, executing scheduled tasks and monitoring for power outages or other alarm conditions.

The SmartMeter System is designed for meters to operate in an autonomous manner, having responsibility for monitoring both data collection schedules (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly interval and register reads) and meter alarms. In fact, for interval-enabled SmartMeters, the schedule can be set to return near real-time data as frequently as every 15 minutes. In addition, SmartSynch devices use advanced compression and encryption techniques to deliver superior data security via public wireless networks.
