Texas-New Mexico Power Selects SmartSynch
Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) announced that the SmartSynch/AT&T Solution has been selected for a 10,000-unit point-to-point SmartMeter trial deployment throughout their Texas market. This makes TNMP the first utility to capitalize on SmartSynch's recently announced alliance with AT&T to bring smart grid technology to the home. Read the press release.
Excerpt from the April 16 issue of the Wall Street Journal: "Texas is getting a first taste of what's ahead with a 10,000-meter rollout by TNMP, a unit of PNM Resources Inc., of Albuquerque, N.M. SmartSynch's Bryan Seal to Participate in TechNet Tech Policy Summit
SmartSynch executive Bryan Seal will take part in an executive roundtable taking place May 11-13 at the TechNet Tech Policy Summit in San Mateo, CA. Commissioner Rachelle Chong of the California Public Utilities Commission has agreed to moderate the discussion, and other confirmed speakers include Tendril Networks CEO Adrian Tuck and eMeter's chief strategy officer, Chris King.

SmartSynch to Celebrate Earth Day with 125 Elementary School Students in Oxford, Mississippi
On Wednesday, April 22 (Earth Day), on the campus at The University of Mississippi, SmartSynch CEO Stephen Johnston will present SmartSynch's SmartKids Initiative to approximately 125 fourth-grade students from Oxford Elementary School in Oxford, Mississippi. The event is part of the Oxford and University Community Green Week 2009 event aimed at engaging area students in environmental education. Johnston will present again that afternoon to another group of students at Oxford University School. SmartSynch's SmartKids Initiative is a school program that teaches children about energy usage and how they can help their families conserve energy both in their community and globally, simply by making subtle changes to their everyday behavior.
