SmartSynch Strengthens Management Team

Leading Wireless Data Solutions Provider Names Chief Financial Officer


Jackson, MS — December 18, 2000

SmartSynch, a leading provider of wireless data solutions to the energy and utility industry, announced today that it has named Daniel L. Finan as chief financial officer.

As CFO, Finan's responsibilities will include oversight of all financial processes, budget analyses, risk management and planning in preparation for the company's next phase of growth. In addition, Finan assumes responsibilities for the company's human resources, administration, legal and corporate operations.

"With over 22 years of financial management, Dan is the perfect addition to our management team," said Mark Rodgers, CEO. "His financial leadership will be a great asset to SmartSynch in meeting the challenges of significant market and customer growth."

Prior to joining SmartSynch, Finan was chief financial officer at Peavey Electronics Corporation. While at Peavey, he was responsible for all domestic and international finance and accounting functions related to the company's manufacture of audio equipment for the professional music industry. Finan, who began his career with Mellon Bank, also served in senior level finance positions at MMR Holding Corporation and ENSERCH. Finan earned an M.B.A. from New York University and B.A. from Hamilton College in New York.
