Why Cellular?

Everyone agrees the smart grid is the future of electric power distribution. By combining the electrical grid with the power of digital technology, the smart grid enables better management of usage and distribution, thus improving efficiency and reducing costs.

However, not everyone agrees on how to create smart grids. There are still widely differing opinions about what the best method is for facilitating the reliable, flexible and efficient flow of information necessary to make the grid “smart.”

Many companies advocate the construction of new, proprietary networks for each smart grid, complete with towers, collectors, transmitters and, of course, the deployment of the human power needed to operate and maintain these networks.

At SmartSynch, we think differently.

We believe building new data transmission and collection networks is redundant and unnecessary. Why? Because networks already exist: cellular networks. We have at our disposal vast networks in which some of the largest communications companies in the world have invested billions of dollars and will continue to spend immense sums to maintain, upgrade and expand.
